About this trial
This national access study will provide antiretroviral therapy for 48 months to 180 HIV positive people who are legally resident in Australia but ineligible for Medicare access to ARVA medication or other substance which is active against retroviruses such as HIV. drugs.
As well as providing drug access, the study will collate data on this population, including reasons for ineligibility (e.g. visa status and type), the length of time it takes for them to become eligible for Medicare and other information to assist the ongoing advocacy work for those who will not be supported by this program.
As well, the study will collate information on the type of antiretroviral treatment regimens prescribed as well as any changes required; and assess long-term clinicalPertaining to or founded on observation and treatment of participants, as distinguished from theoretical or basic science. outcomes including immunological and virological response to treatment.
