New online support group

If you’re comfortable interacting online, you may well enjoy the experience currently being trialled by Positive Outlook.

The program functions much like a support group — it has a facilitator, a set number of participants and a program of activities run over a set number of weeks. The difference is that participants can log-on when they have time and interact via a message board.

NAPWA is assisting in recruitment for Positive Outlook, an online program designed to support the lives of men living with HIV, which is currently being trialled.

The program is delivered in small groups over 7 weeks and addresses the psychosocial aspects of living with HIV. Particular attention is payed to disclosure of positive status and managing HIV within intimate relationships. In Positive Outlook you will find information and activities which will support you to develop skills and confidence, make lifestyle changes and to achieve your health related goals.

HIV raises all sorts of issues that we may find hard to deal with and there is nothing to be gained from trying to cope with our feelings in isolation.
