Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)

Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a technology intended to prevent HIV transmission by giving antiretroviralA medication or other substance which is active against retroviruses such as HIV. drugs to HIV negative people at risk of HIV infection. There is some evidence to suggest PrEP may be effective in some circumstances. It is not currently available in Australia.
