National HIV strategy

Since 1989, Australia has adopted a series of national strategies to provide a coordinated response to HIV. The current strategy, adopted in 2010, is the Sixth National HIV Strategy and covers the period 2010–2014. Australia also has national strategies for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, sexually transmissible infections (STIs[Sexually Transmissible (or Transmitted) Infection] Infections spread by the transfer of organisms from person to person during sexual contact.
